Crusher dust is abrasive and ends bearing life fast. Use the sealed or labyrinth arrangement the machine calls for, keep grease lines full and replace worn seals when you change bearings.
Uncrushable material and tramp iron send shock through shafts and bearings. Choose heavy-series bearings with the clearance the crusher maker specifies, and protect drives with the right coupling.
Mixed old and new belts, wrong tension and worn pulley grooves cause slip and heat. Replace belts in matched sets, check groove wear and re-tension after the first hours of running.
Misaligned pulleys and couplings damage bearings and belts. Align shafts and pulleys when fitting and re-check after major repairs.
Impact loosens fasteners. Use the correct property class, torque them to specification and inspect at every shutdown.
