1. Use heavy-series spherical roller bearings where the crusher maker does
Eccentric shafts and main shafts in jaw and cone crushers normally use heavy-series spherical roller bearings. They carry heavy radial load and cope with some misalignment. Replace like for like in type and series unless the maker approves a change.
2. Check the internal clearance
Crusher bearings are often specified with increased internal clearance because the shaft runs warm and the fit is tight. Use the clearance class marked on the old bearing or given by the crusher maker, for example C3 or C4, and keep it the same.
