About Thrust Roller Bearings
Spherical roller thrust bearings accommodate heavy axial loads and, in addition to the standard properties of thrust bearings, can take slight misalignment of the shaft along with a small amount of radial load.
They are single direction thrust bearings, used where axial loads are too heavy for thrust ball bearings.
- Capable of carrying heavy axial loads in one direction
- Accommodate slight misalignment and a small amount of radial load
- Suitable for low and medium speed applications
Available Variants
- Single direction thrust roller bearings — 292, 293 and 294 series
- Pressed steel or machined brass cage
Suffix Codes
Add these suffixes to the bearing number to specify clearance, cage and bore options.
| Suffix | Meaning |
|---|---|
| A | Modified internal design. |
| M | Machined brass cage. |
| P | Plastic cage. |
| Q1–Q3 | Internal reference codes. Contact us for details. |
| SC | Special cage design. |
Typical Applications
- Vertical pumps and turbines
- Crane and excavator slewing assemblies
- Extruders and heavy gearboxes
- Marine propulsion thrust points
Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes are available in the 292 series?
292 series bearings are available from 150mm – 500mm bore, as listed in the dimension table on this page. Each size has its own bearing number for ordering.
What load ratings apply to 292 bearings?
Dynamic and static load ratings vary by size — see the table for the exact rating per bearing number. Larger sizes carry proportionally higher load ratings.
What is the 292 series typically used for?
Common applications include vertical pumps and turbines and crane and excavator slewing assemblies, and similar general industrial equipment.
What makes spherical roller thrust bearings different from thrust ball bearings?
They carry much heavier axial loads and can also accommodate slight misalignment and a small radial load.
Can I order 292 series bearings with special options?
Yes. Many options are available — see the variants and suffix codes on this page — subject to design and manufacturing constraints. Share your requirement in a quote request.
