Typical Applications

  • Vertical shafts and pump thrust points
  • Crane hooks and swivels
  • Machine tool and gearbox axial support
  • Jacks, screw drives and rotating tables

About Thrust Ball Bearings

Thrust ball bearings use balls as rolling elements and generally have one shaft washer and one or two housing washers. Aligning-type washers are available for applications that need to accommodate misalignment.

They carry axial load only — in one direction (single direction types) or both directions (double direction types) — and must not be used for radial load.

  • Capable of carrying only axial loads, in one direction or two directions depending on the type selected
  • Suitable for low, medium and high load applications
  • Suitable for low and medium speed applications

Available Variants

  • Single direction thrust ball bearings — 511, 512, 513 and 514 series
  • Double direction thrust ball bearings — 522, 523 and 524 series
  • Single direction with spherical housing washer — 532, 533 and 534 series
  • Pressed steel, plastic or machined brass cage

Frequently Asked Questions

What sizes are available in the 533 series?

533 series bearings are available from 25mm – 100mm bore, as listed in the dimension table on this page. Each size has its own bearing number for ordering.

What load ratings apply to 533 bearings?

Dynamic and static load ratings vary by size — see the table for the exact rating per bearing number. Larger sizes carry proportionally higher load ratings.

What is the 533 series typically used for?

Common applications include vertical shafts and pump thrust points and crane hooks and swivels, and similar general industrial equipment.

Can thrust ball bearings carry radial load?

No. Thrust ball bearings carry axial load only. Where radial load is also present, pair them with a radial bearing.

Can I order 533 series bearings with special options?

Yes. Many options are available — see the variants and suffix codes on this page — subject to design and manufacturing constraints. Share your requirement in a quote request.
