About Needle Bushes
The rolling elements of needle roller bearings are cylindrical rollers whose length is far greater than their diameter. They are used where limited radial space is available between the shaft and the housing.
Apart from the standard sizes listed, many other special types of needle roller bearings can be developed to meet specific application requirements.
- Capable of carrying high radial loads in a compact cross-section
- Suitable for low and medium speed applications
- Widely used in gearboxes, steering, clutch, differential, engine and universal joints
Available Variants
- Needle cages
- Needle bushes
- Needle rollers
Typical Applications
- Gearboxes and transmissions
- Engine connecting rod ends
- Steering, clutch and differential assemblies
- Universal joints and compact machinery

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes are available in the HR series?
HR series bearings are available from 8mm – 40mm bore, as listed in the dimension table on this page. Each size has its own bearing number for ordering.
What load ratings apply to HR bearings?
Dynamic and static load ratings vary by size — see the table for the exact rating per bearing number. Larger sizes carry proportionally higher load ratings.
What is the HR series typically used for?
Common applications include gearboxes and transmissions and engine connecting rod ends, and similar general industrial equipment.
Where are needle bearings used?
They are used where radial space is limited — gearboxes, steering, clutch, differential, engine connecting rods and universal joints.
Can I order HR series bearings with special options?
Yes. Many options are available — see the variants and suffix codes on this page — subject to design and manufacturing constraints. Share your requirement in a quote request.
